MATTHEW DAVIS: Often someone is badly hurt in an accident, sometimes they are killed, but they may be hurt to the point where they can't recall exactly what happened and so it's important to try to figure out what did happen and that might involve sending some good investigators or even experts to the scene who can try to figure out what happened in a particular case. Physical evidence is often critical because experts who are called accident reconstructionists, biomechanical engineers, that's what they often rely on and those type of things get washed away, rubbed away, disappear pretty quickly in time. We want to speak to witnesses early and soon after the event when their memories are still fresh so that we can find out the real truth. Once we agree to take on a case we are making a commitment to that case and so that means that we put whatever resources are needed behind that case. It's a commitment of our time, it's a commitment of our reputation, and it's a commitment of our resources, doing whatever it takes to pursue our client's rights. As soon as I'm brought into a case involving death or catastrophic injury I get an investigator to the scene the same day if possible, it's that important.
